What is Electrology?
Electrology is the science of permanent
hair removal. The electrologist inserts a microscopic, sterile, disposable probe into the hair follicle. Using state-of-the-art
technology, a minute amount of electricity is gently applied to the base of the hair papilla or root. This process destroys
the hair growth tissue and the regenerative ability of the hair follicle is permanently eliminated – FOREVER!
# How does electrolysis compare to other
hair removal methods?
Electrolysis is the ONLY method approved
by the FDA for permanent hair removal. Temporary methods such as lasering, waxing, tweezing, shaving and depilatories require
time-consuming maintenance for the rest of the user’s life. Many people end up with skin irritations, ingrown hairs,
skin discoloration and scarring. These methods have also been proven to increase the amount of hair growth in some people.
# Isn’t laser hair removal faster and more effective
than electrolysis?
No! Laser hair removal has not been approved
for permanent hair removal—it has only received approval for hair REDUCTION. The average percentage of hair reduction
for most people is between 10-15%. Don’t assume you are receiving permanent hair removal from medical spas or salons
that use the words “PERMANENT HAIR REDUCTION” in their advertisements. The use of these words capitalizes on the
reputable name of ELECTROLYSIS in an attempt to create the perception of permanence.
